Sabrina Rose Vaughan was first introduced to the harp at the age of six, when her Grandmother taught her the first notes of music on a Celtic lap harp custom built by her Grandpa. She soon progressed to a full size lever harp, learning to play music by ear. At the age of nine, her mother, also interested in the instrument, took Sabrina to their first lesson where they both began studying the harp together.
Sabrina studied under accomplished harp soloist and instructor Lisa Spurlock Gilmore for nine years (2009-2018). As a member of the Louisville Harp Academy, Sabrina performed at bi-annual recitals, playing both solo harp repertoire and performing with fellow harp students of the Academy.
She has played her harp at various events, including a host of church and Christmas services, parties and gatherings, her local tea room, the Actors Theatre in Louisville, Ky, and retirement centers. She has performed with the Seminary School of the Arts Faculty and Friends String Orchestra (Southern Theological Seminary), the Louisville Civic Orchestra (Bellarmine Univesity), and the Liberty University Symphony Orchestra. Sabrina has also played in concert for the MacDowell Music Club, and participated in the Summer 2017 Midwest Harp Festival Solo Competition, Advanced 1 Division. She enjoys providing relaxing background music for company events, and playing as an accompanist for private recitals and performances.
Sabrina is currently enrolled in Liberty University’s School of Music program pursuing a Bachelor of Science Music Instrumental degree, with a focus in classical harp studies. She plays as principal harpist in the Liberty University Symphony Orchestra.
It is her wish that wherever she is called, she will continue to serve the Lord in sharing the gift of harp music.
